Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Our goal is to make movies reflective of today’s polarized world. We aim to foster understanding, appreciation and celebration of each other’s cultural differences and similarities. Film is a powerful medium and can change opinions, encourage tolerance and light the path for younger generations to build bridges within their communities.

Our Story

LaurEllen is the passion project of Laurel Fairworth and Ellen Barkann. The collaboration began years ago while sharing sushi and discussing what they felt was their calling. They resolved to bring to light little-known stories that feature the indominable human spirit. The goal is to showcase how mutual understanding can result in something that is far greater than the sum of its parts. This has certainly been the case of Blacks and Jews, two groups that have often been marginalized yet worked together to create enduring magic.
